Concord, NH – New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Wayne MacDonald released the following statement after the State House passed SB 289 which would require photo identification to vote in the Granite State.
“Recent reports of voter fraud in New Hampshire have rightly outraged Granite Staters on both sides of the aisle. Today’s passage of a voter ID bill is a step toward resolving this important issue that would already be resolved if Governor John Lynch and his Democrats didn’t block legislation last year.
“New Hampshire Republicans look forward to the House, Senate and other interested parties working out the differences between similar bills and enacting an effective law that will help stamp out voter fraud. More than thirty states, Republican and Democrat, already have voter ID requirements on the books, and given our First-in-the-Nation Primary role, we should too.”
