NHGOP Files AG Complaint Over Hodes Illegal Push Polling

Party Asks New Hampshire Attorney General To Investigate Hodes’ Dirty Campaign Tactics

CONCORD – The New Hampshire Republican State Committee today filed an official complaint with the Attorney General’s office against the Hodes for Senate Campaign for engaging in illegal push polling. The Union Leader (7/22/10) reports that a research firm hired by the Hodes campaign began making dishonest push poll calls last week without identifying the call sponsor. New Hampshire law requires push poll callers to inform the contacted person the name of the candidate on whose behalf the call is being made.

“It’s not surprising that Paul Hodes is behind this illegal push polling operation given his history of disgusting gutter politics. These push poll calls are just the latest component of the desperate, unethical, and morally reprehensible smear campaign he has launched against his Republican opponents,” said NHGOP Communications Director Ryan Williams. “We’re asking the Attorney General to investigate these illegal calls because its time to send a message that Paul Hodes’ dirty campaign tactics will not be tolerated in the State of New Hampshire.”

In addition to his illegal push polling calls, Hodes continues to run blatantly dishonest and deceitful ads that have already been discredited by the non-partisan Factcheck.org (6/30/10).

Public opinion polls show that Hodes is widely disliked by New Hampshire voters and trails all major Republican senate candidates in head to head matchups (Rasmussen Reports, 7/14/10).
