NHGOP Statement On Defeat Of Hassan's Attack On Free Speech

CONCORD – New Hampshire Republican State Committee Communications Director Ryan Williams released the following statement today on the defeat of Senator Hassan’s attack on free speech:
 
“The defeat of this unconstitutional legislation is a victory for free speech and political debate in New Hampshire. This is also a major blow to the Democrat Leadership’s brazen attempts to stifle their critics and crush opposition to their failed fiscal policies.
 
“We would also like to congratulate Representative Jim Splaine (D-Portsmouth) for his principled opposition to this flawed legislation. Despite pressure from prominent Democrats, Representative Splaine stood up to his radical party leadership and lead the charge to defeat this bill in the House. Republicans certainly disagree with Jim on many issues, but we appreciate the courage and independence he displayed today.”
