NHGOP Calls On Shaheen, Hodes, Shea-Porter And Swett To Return Tainted Rangel Donations

NH Dems Must Give Back Tens Of Thousands Of Dollars In Campaign Contributions From Scofflaw New York Congressman

CONCORD – The New Hampshire Republican State Committee today demanded that Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Congressman Paul Hodes, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter  and Congressional candidate Katrina Swett immediately return their tainted campaign donations from disgraced Congressman Charles Rangel (D-NY). POLITICO (2/25) reported last night that Rangel deliberately violated Congressional ethics rules by accepting corporate-funded trips to the Caribbean.

“Charlie Rangel is the poster child for the revolting culture of corruption that has permeated Washington. Jeanne Shaheen, Paul Hodes, Carol Shea-Porter and Katrina Swett must unequivocally reject Mr. Rangel’s disgraceful conduct by immediately returning his tainted campaign donations,” said NHGOP Communications Director Ryan Williams. “A refusal by any of these Democrats to return Congressman Rangel’s dirty money would serve as an implicit endorsement of his unethical behavior.”

The House Ethics Committee is still investigating several other matters involving Rangel including allegations that he abused his office to raise money for a New York research center that bears his name.

Rangel has made the following tainted donations to New Hampshire Democrats through his National Leadership PAC:
