NHGOP Statement On Lynch's Proposed Across The Board Budget Cuts

CONCORD – Former New Hampshire Governor and Republican State Committee Chairman John H. Sununu released the following statement today on Governor Lynch’s proposed across the board budget cuts:
 
“The good news is that Governor Lynch has finally been forced to admit that the ridiculous overspending in his irresponsible budget is completely unsustainable. The bad news is that New Hampshire taxpayers and state employees will have to endure extra pain because he refused to act sooner.
 
“The Republican leadership in the New Hampshire House and Senate have been trying to get the Governor to understand that his 4-year spending spree and his patchwork of new taxes are killing jobs and hurting the economy.
 
“Republicans have been trying to tell Governor Lynch and the Democrat leadership that department heads should be directed to take a specific cut off their top line and report back with detailed plans for achieving savings. After over a year of claiming that across the board cuts were not the right way to address our budget crisis, the Governor has finally admitted that we were right all along.”
