Candidate Unwilling To Defend His Tax-And Spend Agenda In A Public Forum
CONCORD – With less than one week before the Senate District 16 special election, Democrat candidate Jeff Goley is desperately ducking a debate with Dave Boutin. There have been no debates during the District 16 general election because Goley has refused every invitation to discuss the pressing issues facing New Hampshire with his Republican opponent.
“Jeff Goley’s unwillingness to debate Dave Boutin is a disgrace and a disservice to District 16 residents. Obviously, Mr. Goley doesn’t understand that New Hampshire voters expect their candidates for office to have the courage and integrity to discuss their positions in a public forum,” said NHGOP Communications Director Ryan Williams. “It’s clear that Jeff Goley is avoiding a debate because he can’t defend his irresponsible votes for the job-killing taxes and reckless spending that are hurting New Hampshire’s economy.”
WMUR-TV has offered to host a debate this Friday that would air on Close Up, the station’s Sunday public affairs program. Dave Boutin has already agreed to participate in this debate.
