The Goley Record: Desperate Dem Continues To Cover Up Tax Record

Candidate Goley Lying About Representative Goley’s Abysmal Tax-And-Spend Record

CONCORD – State Representative and District 16 Senate candidate Jeff Goley continues to cover up his abysmal tax record with more dishonest campaign mailers.The Union Leader (2/6) reported this weekend that the Goley Campaign sent out a deceitful flier that claims he opposes the same job-killing LLC tax that he helped create.
                                                                                                                                                                                         
Goley sent out another round of fliers this week in an attempt to distract from his votes for the LLC Income tax, against killing a statewide income tax, against killing a sales tax, and against legislation that would have prohibited more broad based taxes.    
 
“Representative Jeff Goley has never seen a Democrat tax increase that he wasn’t willing to enthusiastically support. Now that he’s running for  Senate State, Candidate Goley is desperately trying to distract from Representative Goley’s disastrous tax-and-spend record,” said NHGOP Communications Director Ryan Williams. “Fortunately, New Hampshire voters are smart enough to realize that Jeff Goley is a duplicitous, double-talking politician who will vote for more of the same job-killing taxes that are damaging New Hampshire’s economy.”
 
THE GOLEY RECORD:
 
JOB-KILLING LLC INCOME TAX

  • DISHONEST GOLEY CAMPAIGN MAILER: “As your state senator, Jeff Goley will lead the fight to reform the LLC Tax”
     
  • THE GOLEY RECORD: Jeff Goley is an unrepentant supporter of the job-killing LLC Income Tax. He voted FOR it as part of the Democrats’ disastrous budget and refuses to support its repeal (HB 2, 2009).

 
STATEWIDE INCOME TAX
 

  • DISHONEST GOLEY CAMPAIGN MAILER: “Jeff Goley says NO to an income tax”
     
  • THE GOLEY RECORD: Jeff Goley voted NO on killing an income tax (HB 124, 1999) and voted AGAINST a Constitutional Amendment that would have prohibited an income tax (CACR 13, 2005).

 
SALES TAX
 

  • DISHONEST GOLEY CAMPAIGN MAILER: “Jeff Goley has a proven record of fighting higher taxes…”
     
  • THE GOLEY RECORD: Jeff Goley SUPPORTED Jeanne Shaheen’s 2.5% sales tax that would have devastated New Hampshire’s small businesses. He voted AGAINST killing this tax (HB 767, 2001). 

 

BROAD BASED TAXES

  • DISHONEST GOLEY CAMPAIGN MAILER: “Jeff Goley will ALWAYS fight to KEEP TAXES LOW.”
     
  • THE GOLEY RECORD: Just last week, Jeff Goley voted AGAINST a Constitutional Amendment that would have prohibited more broad based taxes in New Hampshire (CACR 26, 2010). He also voted for over 40 new taxes and fees in the disastrous state budget (HB2, 2009).
